Trauma-Informed Facilitation

Participants will be able to successfully and confidently:

Create a Safe Environment: This includes understanding and implementing the principles of trauma-informed care, such as safety, trustworthiness, and choice.

Use Trauma-Informed Language: Avoid overly directive or triggering language. This means offering choices ("If it feels good to you...") rather than commands ("You must do this...").

Respect Boundaries: Avoid physical adjustments without explicit consent and respect personal space.

Recognize and Respond: Be able to recognize signs of a trauma response in a student and know how to respond appropriately, including knowing when and how to refer a student to a licensed mental health professional.
